Our shaper Claes Högström has made a spectacular slopestyle course for The Oakley Arctic Challenge 2010 together with Torstein Horgmo and Andreas Wiig.

The challenging course consists of a rail/stairs element, then a rail/butterbox element, a table top, a regular big jump and a hip at the bottom. 

The course starts with the rails. Torstein and Andreas have been involved in the customization of the set up, and Andreas is pleased with the result. – The rail elements are pretty big and demands some guts from the riders, he explains.

- We have focused on making the slope diverse and to get a flow in the riding, says Claes Högström. The slope has been adjusted to the terrain in Wyllerløypa which has been quite challenging, the terrain is pretty steep at some places and gives the riders quite a lot of speed. 

The rails are followed by two jumps and finally the hip jump. The first jump is a table top, while the second is a more traditional big jump and the third obstacle is a large hip. 

The riders will acquire quite a lot of speed before the last element- the hip in the end of the slope.

- It`s all about going high and with style at the hip, says Andreas, who is looking forward to test the slope when it`s ready.

Established in 1999, The Oakley Arctic Challenge was created as an independent alternative to more established snowboarding events. The Oakley Arctic Challenge is owned by Terje Haakonsen. Having developed and invested in The Oakley Arctic Challenge, Terje fulfils the childhood dream of all snowboarders and paves the way for the upcoming talents and progression of the sport. The event protects some key values; independence, creativity, progression, borderless, playfulness, social and environmental responsibilities.

Good times in New Zealand:) I did a trip over there for the New Zealand open Contest @ cardrona. It was amazing! got to ride snow park a couple days too and filmed a little bit with my friends. this edit is from one of the days up there with Gjermund Bråten, Ståle Sanbech and some other shred dudes. I even got a shot of homie Louie Vito in there before he had to run and do his tango in dancing with the stars. enjoyahh!

Black Winter Premier, and other crap.

Last Saturday we had the Standard Films - Black Winter Premier in Oslo. The place was called Ballroom and about 700 people showed up, it was sick! I´ve been slackin on the post´s lately but things have been movin quick. I´ll post a lil video from my recent trip to New Zealand pretty soon and keep things coming as they come to me. its starting to snow a lot some places in Norway now and I know Colorado´s getting dumped on, which is why I booked a ticket over there yesterday. I´ll officially start my season November 16th, if anybody wanted to know...haha.

Las Lenas

I just got back home to Oslo from Las Lenas, Argentina. I did some photo shooting and product testing for DC over there with the team. Here´s a couple photos from the trip. They are lying though, the snow you see was actually windblown and rock hard. It was a fun trip but the fact that it started dumping hard on our last night kinda sucked... Now I´m gonna test my couch for a couple weeks and see how hard its possible to chill in it. might go for a skate;)

I just came home from the New Zealand Open in Wanaka, NZ on Saturday and now I'm off to Argentina today for a DC team trip. I heard they've been getting dumped on so I'm really looking forward to riding some Pow! It's going to be a fun trip, I've never been down there so it should be a blast.
